Behind every purchase, every vote and every “yes” or “no” to an advertisement stands one of four stable psychographic profiles.
01 / 04
Confident and open to risk. They seek experiences, new products and emotion, and are willing to pay for them.
Select a profile to explore its characteristics.
Across 13 nationally representative surveys in Bulgaria, we identified a stable division of the population into four psychographic groups. The methodology was defended as a doctoral dissertation in sociology and has been applied in more than 130 market projects.
Four stable models
The profiles do not replace demographic data. They add the reason behind behaviour: attitudes to risk, belonging, independence and the search for experiences.
In real studies, the difference between two psychographic groups in the audience share of competing television formats exceeds 30%.

A web-based environment for quantitative research with controlled fieldwork, a lower risk of recruitment errors and real-time progress monitoring.
Open CAPIspace →Combines awareness, preference and actual conversion into purchase. It shows the brand's resilience over time and relative to competitors.
A long-term study for Lidl Bulgaria that tracks how money, health, family and career shape Bulgarians' idea of a fulfilling life. It is an example of long-term research work, not an active service.
Read the results →A regular sociological survey of electoral attitudes that applies a proprietary methodology for ideological-value orientation called IDEO5.
Unlike standard electoral analysis, IDEO5 does not place voters on a left–right axis. The classification is multidimensional and reflects the way people accept or reject different types of public policies. Two independent axes (social solidarity and economic liberalism) define five empirically derived groups: Universalists, Solidarists, Individualists, Statists and Disengaged.
The methodology applies a frozen deterministic classifier, calibrated once on three nationally representative samples (2015, 2018, 2026) and applicable without recalibration in subsequent surveys. Combined with psychographic profiles, it yields a multi-layered picture of electoral behaviour not achievable through standard left-right analysis.
Methodological foundation →Progress Consult combines research discipline with a practical understanding of business. The company was founded in 1996 by Dr Rosen Koutelov, and the psychographic profiling methodology has been developed and tested in real market projects for more than two decades.
During this period we have built something few can claim: a research approach that is both applied in real business practice and validated in international academic journals.
